Is that not to switch the Automatic Start/Stop off? Mine's on the central console.

The one by my handbrake is the automatic lights.
But it will be in the manual, available on line if you haven't got the paper one.

I often wonder, when I buy a second hand car, what the original owner did with the owners manual/handbook.

If you store them in iBooks then you can use the search functions to find things.
