I've got P7s on all four corners. I have been running on Pirelli's for several years and have found them ok until they get to 3 or 4 mm. Any less than 3mm and there is no grip. Wouldn't let them go to 1.6mm. I've already skidded and hit a curb on snow and ice this winter, so would be open to suggestions to another make of tyre.

Hi

Have found the P7 much better than the P6000 (Ditch finders, lol) previously had on my 70's, Conti contact sport were better, also Gooyear F1, so maybe worth a try (if you can find them). Michies are expensive, but do the job and wear well I have them on the C70 ( i have to pay for them) at the moment and no complaints as yet, but the V50 is getting more abuse at the minute, due to the weather.

Getting a pair of Goodyear Excellence fitted to the fronts on Wednesday 205x55R16W. Good deal with Blackcircles £130 all in fitted VAT etc. Tried to get Kwik Fit to price match they couldn't best they could offer for the same tyres was £190 and Budget was even worse at £225. Will report back on how they perform.

P7's fine on 17" rims, not had a problem just turned off the DSTC and dropped the tyre pressure of their eco settings and it's battled through just like my old 244 used to. Best car I ever had in snow though Austin 1800 Mk2 (land crab) would climb a house side and battle through drifts all day long
