Misfire on short runs...?
The engine in my V50 doesn't seem to like short runs, even once it's got warmed up, and feels like it's misfiring when I try to pull away.
The problem seems to happen when I drive it a short distance, stop and then restart it a little later. For example, I made a number of trips to the tip today. On the last run the car didn't much want to pull coming back onto the road. I got over it by declutching, giving the engine a quick rev and then it carried on as normal. It also seems to have periods where it feels like it's trying to surge but then changes it's mind. It's only very slight and really just barely noticeable as a kind of vibration (not a good analogy but I can't think of a better one). I try to use "branded" diesel (normally Shell or BP) and it doesn't happen all the time, so I don't think it's dodgy fuel. I'm inclined to leave it until it's due service and mention it then, or is this something I should be worried about?
