Default Battery issue?

I'm having a few gremlins with my 62 plate (2012) D2 v70.
The stop/start eco thing doesn't kick half as much as it used to, and when it does, the radio goes off and phone disconnects when it restarts.

Could it be the battery is goosed?
Are there 2 batteries or just the one?

Cheers,

Roy

There are 2 batteries. The small one is only used when the engine is stopped by stop start system. Sounds very likely it is dead. You can test it in situ with a volt meter if you remove the covers over the main battery.

There's two batteries. A main starter battery & a smaller support battery.

The main battery is the one that does most of the work. The smaller battery is more or less always charged because its not very big.

Has the car been parked up much? If so, that's understandable under current restrictions.

I'd suggest testing the voltage of the main battery (not the support one) in the first instance.

If its low, you could try charging the main battery overnight.

If it fails to hold charge afterwards, then you'll need a new main battery.

No. Its not been stood much.

I voltage tested both batteries and was getting north of 13v on each. I have not had a drop test done though.

I thought maybe that the smaller battery would be playing up and not giving enough power for the phone and radio when the main battery diverted most of its capacity to starting the car.
Does this sound sensible?

Thanks

That sounds sensible.
