I wouldn't be too hasty in celebrating. A few of the lads in North America took the plunge and it's not like Ronseal quick-dry woodstain....

well i took the plunge, so ill write up on here how i got on and the quality problems issues raised during the install.

it was £276.98 all in inc dely, which was real fast, bought tuesday arrived wednesday, looks the part, all cables new fibre optic leads, mounting brackets, usb extender cable, aux in rca ports.

only time will tell

fitted the gateway 500 today, all up and running, just need to do the firmware update on it via the usb port, sound quality is top notch, as it should be, at last i am totally happy with my s40.

the most complicated part for me was working out the fibre optic cables as you have to detatch the existing ones at the back of the cd changer. there is a little tab that you release and then the existing cables slide out and then you slide in the new cables and attatch the old cables to the denison unit.

great having more disc information on the display when using the usb or hard drive

ill ad some photos later when ive uploaded them

Sounds brilliant. Does the 6CD still work and what options/controls do you have from the steering wheel controls?
