2 questions if I may as the answers may influence whether I also take the plunge.
1. When was your car produced? Is it a 2004.5, 2005 etc? 2. What audio package does your car have? Standard/Performance/Premium? Cheers.

Pre-2007 Ipod Adapter

I have a V50 D5 2006 with High Performance audio system, that has the 6 CD changer and separate amp but no Dolby. Does this kit definately work with my system? Have read the other forms but all gets a bit long and confusing and Dension support have said that there is an issue with Volvo compatability and to check back in a few months - so I am even more confused now as their web site would seem to indicate that the Gateway 500 will work with my model. Anyone installed with the High Performance System? cheers. Aeron |

there are some posts that say it will, best bet is to buy it and install and then try each firmware, some say the 2a method works and some say the 2b method works for the setup, i just played around with mine until i got it to where i wanted it and havent looked back, nothing ventured nothing gained, but usually if you have the six cd it works. in the options of the gateway you have to select disc 1 to scan folders and disc 6 for mixing around, so that is why it wont work on the single cd's

Ordered my Dension yesterday from TTW (Speed-Detectors.co.uk) and it arrived this morning. £269.96 with free delivery.
Installed and all is working ok, except that I had to connect to a switched live for now as my fuse box adapter (add a circuit) is yet to arrive. Installation went well without any problems and the hardest part was getting the glove box to go back in - I have installed all connectors Ipod/USB etc.. in the glove box. Navigating the meues is a bit hit and miss untill I get used to it but the sound is great and the CDC can be used at a flick of the switch. Radio works fine as well. For anyone thinking of adding this unit I can recommend it so far. I am happy! |
