Unhappy Stuck in the mud/snow

Please do not laugh for ye who have not been so stuck cast the first clod. I had to move my car off my drive onto my adjoining front lawn to allow my wife out - done may times with no probs. But today as the snow saturated the lawn my car got - well - stuck. I have put blankets and rugs under but to no avail. No amount of turning and high or low gear steering helps. I am not keen on burning the clutch out so - any ideas? Volvo assiatance cane be her tomorrow (or Wednesday depends on how bad tomorrow is). Anyone got a landrover with a winch in the Maldon area?

Help or if not I could leave as a garden feature
