Default Bad Day !!! stereo /speaker problems

Hi All ,Ive a V40(2003) My HU1205 double DIN unit finally died totally last week , so ordered a pc2 71-4 wiring harness to fit a single DIN sony head unit which i saved from my last v40 (1996), unfortunately what i didnt know was the volvo unit was dolby surround , this harness isnt suitable , as ive found out the door speakers dont work just the front and rear tweeters ,now not having the money to trade out the hu 1205(£700) and feeling rather disheartened with the whole thing , can anyone either point me to a wiring harness that will work with ex dolby systems ,or suggest a "cheap" alternative /solution , it has been suggested to me that i rewire the door speakers and splice them to the 2 front dash mounted tweeters??? is this viable ?or could i cause untold damage to the whole lot?
Any help /suggestions would br really appreciated as i'm at my wits end with this now !!!

The HU-1205 is a navigation radio no dolby pro logic ... there was no external amplifier so all the speaker leads should be behind the radio there in the multiplug .

according to halfords when they input the reg number it is dolby, which explains why the wiring harness doesnt work, if the wires are in the multiplug i cant find them , the harness cant , ive spent around 6 hours trying , what about the splicing ?is it viable
