Clockwise far right, no other position really makes sense tbh.

Thats why volvo was recommending the "longlife" type of bulbs that can handle voltage adjustment but have sh***y light output.
Just so you know.
Very interesting! Did not know this.

BTW - I much more prefer volvo's approach (dip beam goes off when ignition is off) than other cars that beeps a warning but allow you to leave&lock the car with dip beams on.
Again I think the Audi was better in this respect, you could leave the side lights on if you left the indicator switch in a turn position and the side lights set to on, otherwise at the least it would beep when the door was open to remind you whereas the Volvo does neither. The 2 stage failsafe system prevented accidental deployment of the parking light feature which is something I have managed to do on all of my Volvo's!!

...as important as when you parachute-dropping Abrams tanks off C130 cargo bay during low level flight... ;P
loved your military linguo

I was always finding German way of indicator+parking light on one side a bit odd. Sensible, but odd
on the other hand I never drive on parking lights as I see no real point to it (and could never understand ppl in this country doing so so I have never thought of that as bad feature.
