Default DPF Type

Hello all.

I've been doing a bit of research but to no avail. With regards to the DPF on the 1.6 D2 I have [6 gears - 115bhp one], how can I find out if it has a replaceable DPF and fluid or the other one that doesn't need replacing?

Had a look on the Volvo Service site and the below showed up, but that is based on a 2010 1.6D 108, so not sure if that is just a generic service list;

Any help will be much appreciated.

After further checking on the Volvo service site.

If I select 2011 as car age, the D2 115 engine comes up and shows no DPF to be replaced....

There was an overlap between the 1.6D and the 1.6D2. My old V50 was a 2011 model year car but a DRIVe version and had the old 1.6D engine (5 gears) and replaceable DPF.
As far as I know the D2 had a dry system DPF which does not require replacement or fuel additive. If your car does need the fuel additive there will be a tank just above the rear axle.

5 speed gearbox = wet type dpf that requires replacement every 72k

6 speed gearbox or powersh1t = dry dpf that doesn't require replacement

My 2013 C30 D2 goes in for its 75k service next week, DPF replacement isn't part of it.

Yep, just to jump in, the D2 models and D2 based DRIVe models have a dry DPF with no EOLYS fluid and is pretty maintenance free
