Default V50 Front End Clunk

Hi All,

New to the Forum and my first Volvo since I was allowed to drive Mums 360 GLE a good few years ago.

I love the car so far but I may already have broken it :-(

Going gently over a speed bump the other day there was a really loud bang from the front suspension. Now it feels slightly less composed than it did, but still perfectly drivable, though there is a bit of a clonk on the rebound over bumps.

Its a few days till the garage can fit it in, but I'm wondering if there is a known weak spot on the front end, or if anyone has had this before?

Thanks

MW1

Could be one of the coil springs that's gone

Mike Whiskey (I have a feeling we know each other from a former life...)

Very probably a front coil, with LR experience you should be able to do it as a drive way job.

Agree with the above. Had mine done and top mounts too.
Not sure but I have a funny feeling that replacements have to be aligned correctly.

Thanks folks. It did indeed prove to be a front coil.

Many thanks
