Yes, when you speak with FRF quote code C3 and you get quite a good discount - the %age varies. Most main dealers offer a straight 5-10% on production of a VOC membership card.

I found that Caffyns offered a lower final price than my local dealer, so I guess regional prices differ too lol

Simon at FRF (and the rest of the team) are awesome. They go the extra mile and their knowledge of the older Volvo's is superb (I think Simon or someone has an early R). The prices are always low enough that I never bother going anywhere else now when I need genuine parts. Rob

Parts ordered and will be here next week. Everything available apparently. Went with FRF as the Caffyns man was on holiday. The guy at FRF was so helpful and patient with me and gave me loads of help and advice on how to go about it and some tips which I will add to the pile of tips from other websites, forums and videos I've watched.

Got to make sure I have the right tools now so I can attack it!

The parts I ordered to replace the PCV system are here, a couple of tools I believe I need are arriving today, a gazebo that I plan on using as a mechanics cover has been dragged out of storage and tested...I think we're ready to go!

Now all I need is some luck, some confidence, and more than likely a few of those M&S extremely chocolatey biscuits and many, many cups of tea

In other news I have:
  • Fitted some V70 top rear lights to complete the de-tango effect I was looking for
  • Treated the black plastics with some G Techniq C4...used a whole bottle to do the front bumper, rear bumper, door handles, boot handle, door rub strips, wing mirrors, mud flaps and half of the scuttle panel (I ran out because I tipped some out oops!) so will order some more of that and see how it goes. Initial look is good but then anything does when it's new and wet looking.
  • Got bored of failing to find a third brake light cover so am investigating the possibility of pulling the original out and replacing it with something else and making some sort of cover to effectively blank off the hole that would be left.
  • Fitted new number plates so that I don't need to look at the wonky rear plate all the time.
  • Ordered an owner's manual
  • Ordered some parking sensors to fit the rear

Always so much to do!

Patience is a virtue... worth waiting as one will turn up eventually

15ml - I would advise anyone about to do their car to get a 30ml because you'll be amazed at how much plastic needs attention on the car!

You are using too much. 15 ml is sufficient to do a whole car. I treat 'er indoors Mini Cooper with it and there is quite sufficient for two coats all round - and there are acres of trim on that. It is the best trim restorer I have ever used and well worth the money.

I've swapped the door handles and have the thinner V70 roof trim so I should get away with the 15mL (based on the fact you spilt some, and have more plastics!). Thanks!
