Default 2016 V40, D2 2.0 timing belt interval?

Hi all

I am about to take delivery of a "new to me" V40 D2, SE Lux Nav. I am very much looking forward to it and have been a Skoda owner for many years, the Volvo seems more premium to me despite the skodas being good.

Anyway, i am trying to ascertain when the timing belt requires changing for this vehicle?

Can anyone please give me a definitive answer as searching the internet has thrown up several different intervals and im a but confused now lol.

Many thanks in advance for any advice, i am very much looking forward to volvo ownership :-)

Isn't there a time element also?

Many thanks :-)

only stipulation is 90000 miles or 10 years ...which ever comes first .

It was originally 144000 miles or 10 years .. but reduced to 90000 about 4 years ago ....

Wow, thats awesome.

Thanks so much

I am coming from a 2010 Octavia vRS Tdi, which has been great, but im doing more miles now and wanted more equipment. I realise i will probably notice the power drop but it didn't seem too bad on the test drive tbh, i wouldnt say it was slow as such. My previous two octavias were both 1.6tdi's with 105 bhp. and i managed just fine in those including traveling from Yorkshire to wiltshire and back a couple of times per week.

Any other good tips i need to know about?

Doesn't that only apply to VEA engines? The OP says it's a D2, which I didn't think was a VEA

This

Would indicate that the 2.0 diesel is VEA. VEA are Volvo's own engines as I understand it. Rather than the earlier Ford/Peugot ones??

You're right. I didn't realise there was a VEA D2, but I can see it listed.

It would seem that all of the 2.0 are essentially the same engine. But different turbo / vane geometry.

I am wondering about the potential to remap to stick a tuning box on the D2. 2.0

Superchips are claiming over 200bhp at a cost of £268 at the moment.
