Transferring Remote central locking to new 850

Hi again,

I just got a new 97 850 saloon without remote central locking.

My old 95 850 estate has remote central locking.

How difficult would it be to put the system in my new car?

Is the loom already in place or will i need to start ripping wires out of the old car and putting them in the new one?

Also, How can i transfer the immobiliser to the new car?

What a nightmare!!!

A daft question, but are you sure that it doesn't have remote locking?

Every Volvo I'd had made after '94 had remote locking as standard... it could be just that you don't have the fobs...? Just a thought.

Yea i thought it was pretty strange, but the guy was a mechanic, and when i asked him, he said it didn't have it, and that he was intending to fit it some stage in the future.

Hopefully ur right though

BTW, its a 97 850 2.0 20v

can you not fit after market one.....i had a toad that had total closure did sunroof windows etc when you locked the car......had central locking tho..worked off the key at first.....

If it has a red LED on the dash it has RCL, pm me your email and I'll forward instructions how to program the remotes in.

Mine has two LEDS - one mounted on the centre of the dashboard and another on the radio.

The dashboard mounted LED doesn't appear to do anything and I'm not sure of what its function is, while the LED on the radio fascia flashes constantly when the vehicle is switched off. I have always assumed this one was just a security device of some sort.

My vehicle is a T5 with central locking and it would be great if I could get the remote locking facility going.

I'll keep my eye out for a remote fob. Could you P.M me the instructions?
