Default Newbie S60 T5 owner with questions

Hello.

I'm new here and I just bought my first volvo S60 T5 SE. Shes direct from northumbia police on the 07 with 130k and was a marked car.

Few questions for you guys....

I'm having issues with the sound system in the car, it sounds muffeled and distores when i turn it up. Maybe its two wires touching. I'm running a sony head unit and I just bought a new head unit as I old one was only 4x30w and the new sony one is 4x52 but hasnt improved things.

I was wondering if perhaps the police have run the sounds via amp or something ?

Also when pulling off I hear a clicking noise, its not a knock or a bang but a click almost like someone clicking their fingers.. can anyone shed any light?

Replace the driveshaft bolts with the newer ones which have rubber elements to prevent the problem happening again. Search 'axle ping' on the forum it's a well known problem across the S60/V70/S80 platform.

The replacement end bolts that you require are for the Volvo XC90. Don't let the Volvo parts guy tell you they won't fit. They Do!

Hello, thanks for your replies, ill get them drive shafts looked into the bolts shouldnt be to much money, and i inboxed you my number also would be great if you had some pics of my car while it was in service.

I did google it and it came back with a few pics just as it was been taken out of service. ( Wonder where these were taking )

Only other fault i have is a rattle while under load...

Sounds like a heatshield type noise?

i also have a rattly heatshield on mine somewhere under the passenger seat area, only happens when you reach around 60 - 70 mph, maybe the police have moved something under de commissioning? will investigate mine shortly and let you know what it was. (paul, northumbria police s60 t5 07')

found out where this rattly heatshield was on mine, its over the top of the center box on the exhaust banging against the tunnel, put some heat resistant silicone behind it, now all sorted
