Default XC90 T8 - Orange Engine Light

I appreciate a good search will have thrown something up but I wondered if anyone has had this specifically on a T8. Car is only 1 month old and it’s appeared. Car seems to perform fine and the fact it is orange indicates to me it is not critical.

The online manual says it is to do with the emissions system and to have it checked out by a Volvo dealer.

I guess what I am fishing for is can I just continue driving it for a few weeks until convenient to take it in?

My understanding is that any yellow lights are warnings that something is amiss and should be checked out but that it will be safe to continue driving the vehicle.

Safe for the car perhaps, possibly bad for the environment?

My amber engine light comes on periodically and normally turns off after a few days. It usually comes on a day or so after a service and I can't be bothered to keep going back to the dealer to have it reset.
