Before I trade in my trusty old 240GLT would anyone in the club want it? It has done 130,000 miles is a saloon and blue metallic with black leather interior. It was in regular use until 2 years ago since when it has been sat in a locked garage. Last year intending to get it back on the road it had a brand new fuel tank and should pass it's MOT now but for needing some work to the exhaust but thats only the back box last section ( i'd guess around £40) It runs well and whilst I cant pretend its in showroom condition it is perfectly solid with almost no rust at all. It is due to be traded in (and hence I fear scrapped) on Monday so anyone who can promise to look after it can have it for nothing all I ask is you collect it from me.

Can I have first say on this please? I`m certainly wanting the car, especially if the shell is not rotton as I`m after a 240 saloon for a T5 project. I just need to work out how to collect from Winchester!

Hi Rob. A T5 project? Do you mean putting a T5 engine in it? That`s a great idea! I did think about trying to source a 940/740 turbo engine for it but never got round to it. The body shell is rock solid, only tiny bit of rust is around the rear wheel arches but not structural. It`s kinda first come first served but it has to go or I`ll be still paying £160/month to store it in 20 years time!!!

It looks like I`ll have to leave it then, as there seems to be quite an interest and other people can pick up before me. It`s a shame, as it would be nice with a tuned T5 engine in!
