Bearing in mind the dire headlines in the Mail and Express over the past week, I report that my part of God's county was gritted last night.

Its not unusual for councils to waste grit. They'll be all out of it by january if they carry on like that.

Today at Silverstone, bit cold in the morning but a lovely sunny afternoon. Good day there today.

Much too early for anything nasty - Scotland in the Cairngorms above 400m will get a few flakes monday night through wednesday morning - otherwise everyone will notice a slight temp drop down to 10 - 12c - but this is only a "northerly toppler" - normal autumn service will resume by wednesday! - Papers are confusing scientists forecasts for colder winters because of lack of sun activity and going for early snow - not right conditions just yet - wait another month - then we'll see what happens then! Solar activity is low and there is a good chance of another harsh winter this year - But still too early for general snow right now! PANIC OVER!

Well I,m off fishin on Thursday...stuff the weather, a flask of oxo,s and pepper, some Ham an Piri, Piri sauce sarnies, me tobacco,papers an lighter, an it can do what it frigin wants,lol ,
