740 Hall Sensor

I was told by the AA when my 740 broke down that the Hall sensor was defective,Can someone advise me where it is he said it was near the distrbutor but cant see it.My car is 1990 B200e fuel injection.
Perhaps some one has come across this problem before

The hall sensor is in the distributor. It's connected to the wires coming out the ditributor below the cap. Probably, one of them broke.
