Default Another v50 2.0d no start

Hi. Newbie here with a problem. Been visiting here for a few months gaining good info. But now I'm stuck.

Usual V50 2.0d cranks but non start issue and exhausted most options so thought someone may have some wisdom they could throw my way.

I'll do a list as its quicker.

1. Drove perfect - no hesitation flat spots etc. No indications of impending doom.

2. Parked up for 2hrs - no start.

3. Check the Forum....
Cleaned and checked throttle
valve - all good
Checked CEM connections.
Checked all fuses and relays.
Bought a diesel primer pump.

4. Pumped for five min by hand.
Car started for a couple of
seconds then stalled.
(Also fires up with easy start)

5. Removed fuel return pipe and
cranked over - nothing came
out.

6. Diagnostic shows no fault
codes - no issues. It shows the
pressure building to approx
4600 in the fuel rail when
cranking (I forget what units)

Question is. If there's pressure build on the turn of the key - why did nothing come out of the return pipe?? Confused.

Any advise welcome before I replace the pump.

How much fuel in car? I had similar problem because it was showing just under quarter of a tank but it was in fact empty because of the sender unit in the tank being faulty!

Two years later..... Its back.

gave up the first time and trailered it to a local garage - they fixed it but don't know how! (no parts replaced).

Anyway non-starting issue is back. (V50 2.0d)

Today -
Removed and cleaned/chamfered Throttle valve body. (was not stuck)
Removed and cleaned CEM all pins cleaned and all fuses checked.
Removed and checked under bonnet fuses and cleaned big block terminal.
Checked for fault codes - none.
Blanked off EGR - no difference
Disconnected ERG terminal - no difference
Charged battery and used jump leads - no luck.
Easystart - coughed into life then dies.

Diesel can be seen flowing thru clear pipes on cranking.

Any suggestions what to try next - before another hefty garage bill?

Many Thanks.

As you did not bother to supply an update to your original request i doubt many will be bothered to assist.
I may be wrong.

This happened to my 2.0d recently. Just wouldn't start one day after being sat for a few days. Noticed a large air gap in the clear fuel line though.

Anyway after checking all the things you checked with no improvement, it eventually - after A LOT of pumping with a primer pump I installed just before the fuel filter - started. By this point I had introduced another problem (by disconnecting the injectors I inadvertently got dust between the contacts, effectively disabling 2 cylinders), so it was only running on 2 cylinders, but after cleaning the contacts it was fine.

I didn't have any tools to measure the fuel pressure during cranking so don't know if it's the same problem.
