On T5 its located on the end of intercooler behind D/S passenger foglamp cover, its possible D5 has identical location for it.

TO my knowledge - yes,
MAP sensor = Boost pressure sensor, intercooler located
MAF sensor = airflow meter, inlet pipe located
on T5 there are only those 2 related to air pressure and temperature (MAP also reads out temperature of air after intercooler)

Many thanks for your reply, I'll try a new sensor and hope, please please that that sorts it out. First time in 5 years I've seen the check engine light come on!

Cheers Colin.

A quick update I changed the sensor and so far so good.On a side note I bought a Bosch sensor rather than a genuine Volvo one, The genuine version is Bosch part number 0261230295 The superseded number 0261230296 can be bought for under £30 delivered which I bought and have fitted.
