Default Rear door lock out

Hi guys, hopefully someone out there can help. 2003 v70 rear passenger door lock will not open. Using fob all door buttons pop, but this door remains locked. External and internal handles no help. Can't remove inner door liner without destroying it. How do I get door open? If I have to replace door liner so be it but need it open. Help please. Cheers Mallyv70

Not posted in correct forum section for that age of V70 by the way. Probably better to try the correct forum section.

I have had this with a mates Golf mk IV. After much searching we eventually found out a method from YouTube. I don't know if it will help you on your V70, but a hole needed to be cut into the inner door skin to be able to access the mechanism to manually move the lock part that wasn't working.

If you can't find any help online you would need to open up your working door and try and work out what needs to be moved, and where you would get into the door to move it. Best of luck, I've had the pain/frustration. It is also an MOT fail as well, and not one that can be got around by applying tape over door shuts and handles either to prevent access to the MOT tester.

You would also likely to need a replacement lock if the existing one is faulty. It's a TADTS on mk IV Golfs.... not normally to prevent the door being opened from inside, just the central locking failing.
