If you don't want to get caught out again, simply disable your DRL's. Switch your lights on then pull the main beam stalk back to activate the main beams. Still holding the main beam stalk, reach down and switch the lights off then let go of the main beam stalk.
The high beams are both on the same 15 amp fuse (F28) which is located in the engine bay fuse box. The left dipped beam is supplied through fuse F21, with the right dipped beam being supplied through fuse F22. Both are 15 amp fuses, and are also located in the engine bay. That being said, the wiring diagram I have for the car conflicts with the technical information supplied by AutoData, as it shows that fuses F9 and F10 are for the left and right dipped beams respectively, with fuse F19 being for the high beams. Presumably this also relates to the engine fusebox, as no other fusebox in the car has a fuse that is designated F19 from what I can tell. The fusebox cover in the engine bay should clarify this issue anyway, as the fuse designations should be printed on the inside of the cover. In short, you should have a separate fuse for each dipped beam light, and a single fuse for the high beam lights.
