Well, I've heard a noise since I starting to drive the car. Not a worrying one. I went to see a friend, and while I was waiting for him, I've opened the bonnet, engine on : it was its cover which where not correctly fitted at its place. I pushed it a bit and there it was.

Replace brakes fluid.
Hy buddies,
I've replaced the brakes fluid, using automatic brake bleeder from this shop. It's difficult to access to the bleed screws while wheels are on. Not impossible, but not a lot of space to work with the tool. I've needed a 10 wrench for the fronts caps, a 9 for the rears caps, a piece of scotch, a rag, a piece of hose. As I'm not sure of the translation about the tool's name, here's a pic : Unscrew the wheels bolts, then elevate the cars on jacks : Get wheels off. Prepare and connect the kit to the master cylinder with the right cap. The pressure when you plug the spare wheel is a bit strong, so fix a little bit of scotch around the tank bottleneck and screw the kit cap on the bottle next of the master cylinder. Fill the bottle a bit (1/3) of brake fluid and use the clip to hang it on : Everything's ready to bleed the brakes : To be sure, I've done the operation twice. Replace wheels, get the jacks off, screw the wheels strong, get to a petrol station to control the tire pressure. I've charged at 2,2 bar pressure. And that's it. You can also do it with a buddy who will press the pedal brake, while you open and close the brake caps on each wheel. Hope it will be helpful. VV 70

Eezibleed is excellent kit, I usually let some air out of the tyre first, to about 1bar, before I connect it up.

Hy,
I've changed the stabilizer rods, cleaned the brakes backs front pads of grease and replaced it by ceramic one, installed new fogs lights "bulb bracket", replaced the switch commanding the light of the dash board... Coming soon, the replacement of the 3 engine mounts the 2 lowers ones (front and rear) and the third one under the gear box. I've got no more money till the end of the month. VV 70

I put some air in the tyres, needed as temperature has dropped, winter nearly here.
I also noticed that its just passed 50,000 miles, pretty good for a twenty-three year old car. Drives like a 50,000 miler too, that is, almost like new

The 850's alternator has never seemed quite up to the job I had to break out the jump leads after a week sitting idle followed by a few shortish runs in the dark.
The new regulator/brush pack arrived on Friday and I fitted it this morning. It went surprisingly well, considering how badly my (failed) attempt to get a number from the old regulator went. All done in situ, because getting the alternator out is a right palaver. The brushes were pretty worn and the alternator seems to be coping much better.

I met Santa Claus and asked him to bring control arms and engine mounts (back -front- gearbox).
Genuine volvo. As he couldn't realize my wish, I've bombed him with snowballs and ordered the stuff to PFS. Delivered at the end of the next week. VV 70
