Default Engine stalls daily, no error codes

Hi All, I tried to look for a post describing similar issues but can't find identical problems. My 2013 V60, 1.6 diesel developed a fault and it drives me mad. For over a month now engine stalls after covering around 2 miles. It only happens when stopping at the lights or slowing down significantly. Once engine warms up problem disappears. When plugged to diagnostic software no errors showing up. It starts fine and for the first mile or two everything is fine. First stall requires pressing start, following 2 or 3 car will restart automatically (I guess auto start is re-activating). There are no issues with the fuel consumption or performance otherwise. I've changed the fuel filter and noticed a little jelly like lump in diesel. Just one however, haven't check the tank for any dirt. I doubt fuel is the issue as car work perfectly after the initial 2-3 stalls. Last week I used a diesel system cleaner in half tank and took the car on a 15 miles motorway hard drive. 4th gear on hi revs. For the next 2 days, issue was gone but before I had a chance to celebrate, stalling returned as before. I am hoping that someone has experienced similar problem and there is a solution to it without spending fortune. Thanks for your help in advance. Michael

I don't have any experience of your engine/vehicle.

However, generically in your situation I would try and look at Live Data with your diagnostic system.

So observe (or ideally record) live data for key components when the car is running well and when it is stalling and try and identify what is different. Look at things like Engine Temperature, MAP pressure, Boost Pressure, fuel pressure, EGR operation, MAF data etc.

Just beware of cause and effect issues with the data.

These parameters can be checked with a smartphone, Car Scanner Elm Obd2 has dedicated profile for D2 engine, over 100 parameters + statistics.

Check the noncontinuous monitors and emissions test in the app, maybe there is some trace of stalling...

I had a similar problem with my D4 181 VEA. Stalls after less than 2 miles from cold, fine after, no fault codes.

After changing the fuel filter the problem never reappeared.
