Good to know... I changed my Exide battery for a Yuasa.

Keep life simple. Buy a Varta from Tayna with the correct original physical dimensions and CCA. You will have a choice of grades (warranties). Bosch and Varta are identical.

Yes, Varta (bosch) are top end, my default choice.
Varta/yuasa are the No.1 batts to get. (Bosch too which are rebranded varta with a higher price) |

Strange as it may seem I have always found the Volvo dealer to be very competitive on battery prices and certainly shouldn't be dismissed out of hand.
As mentioned previously, Tayna Batteries are also an excellent company to deal with.

They're pretty much the same company so not sure why there would be a difference.
Exide also have the Volvo contract and we know the genuine batteries have proven long term reliability.

An 019 OEM Volvo battery for a V70 should only be about £110 from a Volvo dealer. That's what it cost me. I think they are supplied by Varta but not sure. That's a good price for a lot of battery - never had one as large as that in a car.
I bought a Halfords battery for my son's Kia Rio a few months ago and that's performed very well. I think they are also made by Varta. |

Thinking about it, is there any such thing as a bad battery nowadays? (As in a brand that you shouldn't use either because of poor quality/reliability).
