Default Radio signal poor

HI folks, Happy New year....

One more if i may, kept forgetting about this one, can the antenna in the rear bumper fail to some degree?

My old laguna also had a poor aerial but i put that down to the rear demister having had so many repairs done to it (that was the aerial)

I thought the volvo's antenna was on the NSR glass, but thats evidently the telephone i think is said???

So, its deffo in the bumper, i know this cause i had to have the bumper off, anyway, is it the powered antenna up the swanny? or is it the fact that i live in Thetford forest the main issue, i really did expect the volvo to be better than the laguna though

UK based, i do have various USB items such as wireless charger (phone holder), camera black box, im sure there is one more but i cannot remember what it is if anything...

Hi .
Sounds like you didn`t re-connect the signal booster.
White wires in the offside lower quarter panel under the light cluster.
Common mistake when removing / refitting the bumper.

Deffo was reconnected, took me a while to figure out how as the cable was too short to do it whilst the bumpers was semi off, also signal was poor prior too

are you sure all those electrical accessories are not interfering with the signal ? Are the wires clipped on to the studs ok at the top of the rear side windows ?

I thought those wires on that window are for the phone? thats what Vida shows, its for phone, not radio? gonna have another look now but yes, they are deffo clipped on to the wires properly as i had to undo them to do the tint and i made sure they clipped ok, checking Vida again and will post back....

one aerial for the radio is in the left rear window and the other is the plate in the r/h side of the rear bumper , both have their own aerial amplifier .

you can read out the signal strength from the AUM if you have Vida

Yeah, i have come across the one in the bumper, just a tad baffled as to why there would be 2 for the radio unless one is for another function, ie telephone? i have also checked to make sure there are no scratches on the widow one. It could just be that i am in a duff area for radio signals

Volvo use a diversity aerial system , it constantly scans both aerials and switches back and forth to the one with the strongest signal , it works very well .

Ah, ok, thanks, tis a good idea for sure, i must admit, the volvo does pick up a little better than the laguna did, it must just be this area, i was just hoping it would be better than it is :/
