Fuel flap lock re alarm
Hi folks
I was just going through what could be the issue re my alarm not flashing the indicators when locking but does for unlocking. Turns out the filler flap will not lock, having disassembled it, it turns out it will unlock not not lock, therefore the motor is a dud. I have just bought one off of the Bay from Lithuania, as ya do... Anyhoo, long story short my question is, could this be the reason my alarm doesnt flash the lights when arming?

I don't think so. I had the fuel door actuator completely disconnected and the alarm would engage as normal with hazards flashing and dash red light blinking. First place to look is the alarm siren module, then all door, hood and trunk locks which have each a micro switch. Also make sure the sunroof is fully closed, if equipped

The alarm sounds off ok, well, it does from the keypad. Whats the best way to test the micro switches and yeah, ive slammed that bonnet so hard i am surprised the engine didnt drop out lol

The yellow keyfob button is the panic alarm, the siren sounds differently https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMpSlDvaNoU
For the bonnet, I actually close it the gentlest I could because when it's slammed, the bolts securing each latch get loose, the latches move a little, and the hood gets stuck and it's not a pleasant situation. To find the bad latch (with the faulty microswitch) Don't know how to find the faulty latch but if it's at the hood, it's the driver's side latch that has a connector to it

Open the drivers door window. Lock the car as usual. Wait a few minutes then wave your arm around through the window. That should set the alarm off! You can also do this sitting still in the drivers seat (raining here!). You really need to know whether the alarm works before further investigation.

You can look at the status of doors, bonnet, boot etc using VIDA.
Go to Vehicle Communication, select the CEM from the network diagram, expand the CEM list under Parameters. You will see lot's of data parameters. Select the ones you want to observe, then click Add to List on each one. The parameter and the current value will then show on the right hand side. This is live data. So as you open and close doors etc. the status will be reflected on the screen.

I don't know where the sensor is, but both methods work I promise! I believe it's a volume measuring type so any movement after 10 or 20 seconds should do it.

You know that the lock on the filler flap takes about 10 mins to lock after locking the doors?
