Egr pipe
With all this free time I'm going to attempt to decoke my leaking rocker cover. Upon removing the egr valve rubber tube that runs between the rocker cover and egr I've found a rather alarming amount of oil sitting in it. Is this normal for a coked up head? The car in question is a 251,000 mile 163bhp variant.
Having googled a few images there doesn't seem to be anything like the same amount of oil in a pipe like mine, they all seem full of carbone and dry. Is there a seal gone on mine or something blocked? |

Please remember they don't let us play with diesels here in No. America.
I've seen pictures here of that EGR pipe all but completely choked with black, lumpy deposits. Get all that stuff clean and replace weakened, aged hoses. See if you find something with a search (good luck). I'd love to see your face when you see the packed 90º EGR pipe. Last edited by Georgeandkira; Mar 30th, 2020 at 13:39. |
