V40 emission fault warning

What does this mean and Do I need to take the car to the garage immediately?

If it's the engine warning light that's illuminated then it doesn't need immediate attention but do have it looked at.

It will probably be either the well-known EGR problem (for which there is a fix that Volvo should pay for) or a dirty O2 sensor which needs a clean (a 20 minute job for the dealer).
