use of ESC
I have just picked up my XC60 D5 March 17 reg and going through the settings find the ESC disabled.
I have not had this facility before (previous car 960 MY 1995 that I had all of it's life) so I am curious as to whether this is an option to use in specific conditions or is it turned off for a MPG issue? Hope you will bear with me whilst I get accustomed with all the software and electronics. Thanks Paul |

Also note that ESC consists of a number of systems, the only one you can disable is "Spin Control" which is the ability of the traction control system to override the throttle. This is useful for accelerating on viscous surfaces like sand or mud - there is no other benefit. When you disable ESC there will be an orange light on the dash reminding you.

Thanks Tannation,
That's interesting because I didn't disable it, I found it disabled when working through the settings. I had used the car numerous times previous to the check, I also didn't notice the orange light. I will check it out tomorrow. |

sounds like your reading the settings wrong Paul, it's giving you the option to disable it, not saying it's already disabled, if you know what I mean.
