No worries,
That was one question answered as I would also expect diesel leaking outside if there was an air leak in the filter housing or pipework from the filter housing to engine drawing air in to the system and there isn't any diesel leak anywhere.
As for the compression test, is the test in Vida sufficient or a good old fashion compression test with injectors removed?? I'm pretty sure the engine mechanically is sound as it's been pampered by me for the last 50k miles and 5 years of owning it with frequent oil changes along with these engines are bombproof?? I know the car inside out and this is the first time it's ever missed a beat and I would doubt it but obviously can't rule it out totally.
The hesitation seems to have calmed down a little today as it was driveable but maybe I've learned to drive around the problem area now so it seems better. The misfire is just the same as when the TC does a hard cut from 1st to 2nd gear on heavy accelleration with wheelspin.

One thing that has played on my mind especially the problem is a little tricky to track down - about 2 years ago I'm pretty sure a silver paper cap fell off a bottle of millers fuel additive down the fuel filler and at the time I couldn't recover it so had to leave it to go down the neck, what would be the scenario inside the tank if debris like this entered the tank. Would the tank filter or baffles stop this ever being a problem?
Really clutching at straws here but still driving it just in case it actually logs some faults in VIDA that might lead to something more to go on.

Not sure if the test in VIDA would be as good as using a traditional kit? Hopefully someone can chime in to it's accuracy, I've never used it.

Also yeah dropping something into the tank like what you mentioned could be getting in the way of the fuel pick up pipe of the low pressure pump, it would of course mean draining and dropping the tank...

Cheers again for information, looks like I'm going to drop the tank as its the only way I can be sure and illiminate it, without looking at vida as I've not got access just right now would I be correct it saying the low pressure pump is outside which draws diesel to the filter housing in this model and also if the tank was removed would there be access to the inside to check for debris?

You'll be able to trace the hoses back from the fuel filter housing to the low pressure pump which I'm almost certain fits into the tank.
If you're going to do I wouldn't be inclined to do so until the fuel light comes on!

It's currently on halfway so It's time to drive some fuel off!!
Yep looking at VIDA it seems the pump is in the tank and unfortunately there's no access flaps under the rear seats so the tank has to be dropped for access.
I've tried everything else so might as well do this and hopefully find something.

All your symptoms, live data and fault codes relate to implausible pressure sensor values which could be faulty sensors, faulty wiring or even a faulty ECM (hopefully not).

I would be using the signal specification values from the information section in Vida to do some fault tracing with a multimeter.

What were your readings from the above fault finding checks?

I've not got any further with more fault finding other than the VIDA compression test in the injector test section unfortunately. I wouldn't be capable in fault finding buzzing wiring thought with multimeters and would book in to a competent garage for this if required. Whether the piece that entered the filler neck is now causing this issue i really don't know but I need to see it this is the case in the tank and pump assembly.

I'm not understanding your focus on fuel starvation.
You have good injector performance, no starting problems and no fuel related fault codes.
If you ran live data showing fuel pressure at idle and through the rev range, I'm sure that would further support this view.

You do however have large arrows pointing at air pressure anomalies both with the engine off and on.
These wouldn't be caused by a foreign body in the fuel tank.

I would always follow the data and the possible causes especially given how your garage experience has already shown you how not to approach the problem.

Just my opinion.

Yes you are probably correct, Other than checking all the wiring from each sensor to the ECU and recording the values (this is out of my scope TBH)! I can only refer to what I have already checked mechanically with pipes and sensors and basic stuff. All seems perfect in that respect.

Without knowing what the air pressure values should actually be for a correctly running engine I can only relate what my values show as I don't know if they are normal or not?
I am open and welcome to any suggestions.

Unless you're up a mountain, the manifold pressure should read atmospheric pressure with engine off ignition on and the same at idle so 14.69psi, or 1013 millibar/hectopascal hPa then rise with revs.

Your large under reading in previous screenshots is either a sensor fault, a wiring fault, an air leak, sticking VNT mechanism, failing motor in the VNT actuator or an ECM fault so spend your time looking at the possibilities within the ECM Parameters and Activations section of vehicle communication in Vida and explore the information section.

Vida is pretty easy to follow and contains a wealth of information but you need to take the time to read through it and understand it or be at the mercy of a main dealer who will charge a fortune or a garage who may not understand it either.
The savings you can make should be motivation enough.
