Default xc90 loses power.

my 2003 xc90 had the engine replaced with the engine from my 2005 xc70. The xc70 engine had covered 167k miles never missed a beat nor used oil or water. its now going into limp mode if I put my foot down to overtake or pull uphill. I have replaced all hoses to engine mounts, waste gate control etc with silicon. With the engine idling and revved hard the hose (non silicon) from inter cooler expands making me wonder if a blockage.
Any advice appreciated.

Hi, I have same t shirt. (D5).

What are the trouble codes?

My only issue when I changed my engine was that for some reason the injectors seems to have mysteriously failed.

Just changed all 5 thanks to the 'bay' and 2k later all running fine.

Hopefully your replacement had steel core plug. I think by 2005 this was sorted.

If you let the forum know the trouble codes, perhaps will be able to better advise.

Cheers. The problem is vida dice wont connect with it. its ok with my xc70 and the v70 I had. So getting codes is difficult.
Its been fitted with a Chinese Double DIN GPS Sat Nav Car Radio 3G Bluetooth USB AUX CD DVD Player and some gismo that's been left in the diagnostic port now removed wondering if its rogered the diagnostic.

Hi, the odb port has a fuse, worth checking.

Also the attached show how to access dtcs without a reader. This may indicate if the diagnostics are working.

Hope this helps.

Hi John tried that went through the motions no codes. I have a Delphi diagnostic which works ok on the car says over boost. Going to replace engine mounts as I get popping with oil cap removed and a crawl underneath tells me the rear is proper shot.

Sounds a plan, pity you did not notice this when you swapped engine over.

These days I get my indie to do these jobs, and they did this as part of my engine swap...

It is strange that Vida fails, could you have blown the interface module that plugs into odb socket? Perhaps a more local member could try it out.

I have an autel reader which I take on long journeys but a recent Vida user/advocate. (Thanks to Cheshired5). But just can't get the car to go wrong at the mo!

I should have noticed but hey ho not too bad a job. Vida works fine in my xc70 think it has something to do with the Chinese radio with built in diagnostic.
