If you have your car remapped it is good practice to make sure your brakes and suspension are not worn or at a point if you were enjoying the remap and where compromised due to brake fade or brake flexi hoses bulging etc. Brake fluid does get contaminated or go off with age and use, to me it makes common sense to be safe. These saftey checks can easily be done by yourself you do not need to take your car to a garage, however I do agree that there are some garages that do charge for things that do not need replacing and replace with non genuine parts and charge well over the book time to do the job. I have heard a few people make comments about jobs done that did not need doing, these type of garages or specialist only stay in favour for short periods. |
