Question help

i have got a v40 and the cam belt snaped how do i find out if i have an invasive or non invasive engine to see if any damage has been done th the engine please

If it is a petrol one then unfortunately it will have bent a valve or 16! Sorry mate. Marc

yep its a petrol one so my only option realy is a new engien was told that is it was an ivasive engine was desighned to stop that happening

You could put a belt on it and turn it over by hand to see but my bets on damage unfortunately, other than that, take the head off it and have a look. Marc

Hey up,

I'd agree. Damage can be quite a wide spectrum depending on how fast your were travelling, revs etc.

Bent valves is most likely.

Grab a haynes manual, whip the top off and take a look yourself for damage.

Depending on the level, could be self repairable or new engine time!
