Tyre deflating, Arcadia rim, do they cause problems?
Odd question this - I've had this PSR wheel checked both when I had a previous tyre on it and again with a new tyre and with both tyres it will, slowly (ie over about 10 days) drop from being well over 32 psi down to around 15 if I let it go that low.
With both tyres on it's been checked using the old water bin method and whilst other tyres have shown up as having nails in them this way, this wheel's never shown itself to be leaking (ie no bubbles). I wondered, therefore, whether anyone's ever had a problem with the seal around the edge of the tyre or could something else be the issue and making it leak slowly?

It is possible, in case there is a lot of corrosion around the rim, where the tyre is sealed on the wheel. For some reason, arcadias don't corrode as bad as Telestos or Ares wheels do, but still, after 18 years, some may be in need of a refurb. I had my Arcadias powdered coated and the rim is like new, so when the seal is applied on the tyre, I hardly lose any air at all. Maybe after 6 months, I lose a couple of psi on 1 max

My 04 v70 did this so not uncommon. I didn’t see it through though I traded it in instead...

I had the same problem with V70 D5 Metis alloys, spoke to local tyre dealer, for £10 per wheel, he removed the tyres put some sealant around the edge of the alloys, was not total success, but a lot better
now running XC60,,,no problems with them |

Thx, @silverfoxjw, @Cull06 & @gatos - my next step could well be to have them remove the tyre, clean up the rim and reseat it.
It's weird because I did expect the tyre change would 'cure' the problem but as it's still there then it's probably something to do with the rim.

It might be a daft question, but has the valve been changed. I had a slow 'puncture' when we were away for the weekend in the C70. I did not want to drive for the duration with the space saver fitted so stopped at garages frequently and inflated the tyre again. When I got home and investigated it turned out to be a loose valve core. I have never had that happen before. Tightened the core, inflated the tyre and no more problems.

Had this problem on the rear of my S40, and eventually the problem was diagnosed as porosity due to corrosion on the rims. Apparently road gritting can play havoc with Telestos after they have aged a bit. I had my local Indy tyre fitting place sort out the rears by applying a bead sealing compound to the whole of the whee rim and beads. This seems to have cured it as it is now about two years since I had it done. The tyre chappie said it was quite a common occurrence. He used a bead sealing compound called TRUFLEX/PANG. It#s made in the USA but it is generally available here, and most tyre places use it or an equivalent. The only other way ie to have the rims properly refurbished and sealed. I have also heard of owners coating the rims with a type of resin compound like the racing fraternity do. The Indy garage that did mine charged me £10 for both rears. Hope this helps.

Yes, it does sound like what's up with my car's rim is similar to what you've described.
