Default Rattle in area of rear seatbelt

Hi,
I have a 2008 v50.
There is a new rattle which is in the area above the rear driver-side wheel where the seatbelt is mounted. Basically where the plastic bit is on the right of this image.

Any ideas? It sounds like something is loose, rattling around.

Is it definitely coming from inside the car? If not, could be something suspension related like a broken coil spring?

I have the same on the passenger side. this is more of a squeak than rattle, heard more so over bumps. sounds like the seat isn't located full when upright. i stuck some sticky back foam around the rear window, parcel shelf and on the back of the seat to tighten the locking mechanism. still not found exactly where its coming from however when someone is in the seat the noise disappears. defo not the suspension as had all checked.... more the plastic paneling moving / twisting.

My saloon has got a weird 'light rattle' fromn around the rear bench seat - I'm convinced the seats/headrests wobble in their mountings but haven't bothered to check it out.

Hey why do the V50 have much nicer carpeting in the cargo area than the S40? my saloon carpet is that nasty scratchy stuff - that pic above looks like lush carpet.

Im more annoyed that you've got the sprung flap where the book lock engages!

My S40 has that flap, but the spring is broken so it just kinda flops down and stays there.

So, after letting the car sit there for a few weeks looking sorry for itself, I decided to hake a look in the wheel area. I pulled on the shock absorber and found that it was loose.
Shining a torch up revealed that the mount had broken off. The bolts were still in place but it was now loose.
Didnt have the tools to fix it myself so had the local garage fit a new one.

I had this on mine. You can just replace the top mount. They're about £20 and take less than an hour to change.
The two top bolts can be a pain to undo, as the heads corrode. Make sure you use a 10mm 6 sided socket to undo them, less likely to strip the head.
Also the single lower shock bolt can be very tight.
Give all of the bolts a good soak in penetrating oil for a couple of days and dont force them (especially the top ones), just work them tight / loose / tight / loose and they should start moving.
I replaced all of the top mount bolts recently with new ones to hopefully avoid them stripping / rounding / shearing off.
