Default Will Focus dampers fit our cars?

I've often read that the Focus is a better damped car than our S40/V50's and I can believe it TBH - probably as a result of the market sector requirements - Volvo drivers on the whole like a softer car. I can't help feeling that the car would handle better if some Focus dampers were fitted, they'll probably be classed as a standard part as well so it could be a cheaper option all round comared to Koni's etc.

Anyone know of any compatability issues?

Thanks

Rich

I think so as when I was looking at the Koni FSD site, they both used the same Koni part number.

Thanks George, could be a cheaper alternative to the Volvo parts as well, as I suspect that the Volvo OEM dampers won't be cheap.

My wife has a C-Max 2.0D.. basically the same underneath as the S40 2.0D that I drive.
I believe that the C-Max suspension set up is harder because of the heavier shell, and the expectation that the back could be well loaded if used as a good transport with the seats out.
It does feel harder than my S40, so perhaps the C-max dampers are uprated.

BTW, out of interest, the C-max wiper blades are a direct replacement, and a few pounds cheaper that the volvo part
