Hello, hope I have the right thread.

I've had an 09 2.4d for coming unto 3 years and am delighted with it.

I invested in Car Scanner pro and that has been good too, We have been very happy together. ;>)

I've watched several regens on the scanner and as stated elsewhere they are not dramatic.

Now....... I've been watching the dpf soot recently and checked it today. Its at 27gms. I've seen that 25 is when it should start a regen. The sort of driving I do is mostly B roads so its going up.

There are no engine fault codes and the car drives perfectly.

Anyone any idea why it hasn't started? Also anyone know when the soot filter full message comes on.

All help very much appreciated.

dpf re gen starts when the pressure difference is read by the dpf sensor . it basicly a vacume switch which sends a signal to the ecu which reads and controls the regen.process

Thanks Simmy.

I went for a 50 mile trip yesterday and after about 6 miles at 70mph it finally started a regen and went from 27 gms down to 9, when it stopped. Still with no DTCs logged after the regents. So I am happier.

Anyone any idea why the region would just stop? the DPF didn't get too hot, and was cooler than I've seen it on other regions. It was a very hot day.

i would not worry to much abt dpf regens. if your car is functioning correctley. it should just do regens as and when its needed. the volvo system is very good especialy on the dry dpf cars . just drive and enjoy your volvo the car will inform you if things go wrong.
