Default Looking for source of valved t-piece for screen washer

Hi

We need a replacement t-piece joint, with a valve in it, for the windscreen washer pipe of our 2008 V70. The local Halfords can't help and my partner has had difficulty finding anything on line which looks like the right part. I have a recollection that we had a similar problem some years ago with either this Volvo or our previous one, and even the garage never came up with an 100% "correct" part.

(The valve inside the part seems to have worn away leaving a hole right through the part.)

Can anyone point me at the best place to look on line for a part, or get advice. Or do I need to contact a main Volvo dealer?

Thanks for any advice.

Thank you for the recommendation. We had a bad experience ordering small orders from Germany some time back but maybe things have changed since then. I see that they do take credit cards.

I replaced both the non-return valves with standard connectors. It's made no discernible different to the speed of delivery from the pump. I've done this on other vehicles too, also with no adverse effect. It seems to me that the non-return valves are a source of problems and have no benefit.

I will also use normal valves to change whole washing system.

I purchased an aftermarket one and found that didn’t work, so I refitted the original. I discovered that you can pop the top off the T-piece and removed all the internals. Put the top back on and hey presto, fully working again.
Try it before ordering any parts - you may be pleasantly surprised!

On my 850 I (stupidly) got a part cheap (about £3.50) off eBay (and I didn’t realise it was from China, so took forever too) sure enough it packed in quickly. I then got one from partsmonster on eBay (that was a genuine part) for about £5.50 and works perfectly now. It wasn’t worth trying to save a couple of quid! I also need a more specialist valve for the wiper washers on my 850 which I’ve not been able to find, but my local Volvo dealer can get it (it’s a classic part so will take 2 weeks) and have quoted only £6.60!

The stealers aren’t always bad guys! (When they are Volvo!)

Sometimes the answer is simple…..your dealer!

Hope it helps

Belated thank you for your inputs everyone, particularly @passenger . We now have the parts in and working again with no problems, unlike last time.
