Default XC70 newbie

Hello everybody!
I have crossed the abyss from Saab ownership after buying a 54-plate D5 XC70 with a lowly 51k on the clock. I imagine I will be here often as the experience -- which has thus far been flawless -- unfolds.
Afraid my first question is rather inane... The stereo is a HU850 and the display says "6CD changer" with no CD in it and "Six CD" in smaller type when there's a disc in. I know the CD changer was an option but the above (plus what the garage owner who sold me the car said) leads me to believe the changer is present.
Problem is, and you've likely seen this coming a mile off, I can't find it. I've rooted around in the rear left of the car -- spare wheel compartment, light cluster/fuse box -- and found zilch.
I imagine the answer is simple -- there's no CD changer. But I thought someone here might be able to shed some light on the situation.
If I'm correct, where might I find a s/h CD changer that doesn't cost the earth?
Any ideas gratefully accepted.

Thats a real find, very few low mileage diesel estates come up for sale. Especially the 4wd version. Well done.

Default 6 cd changer

Hi
I have the 6 cd version in my MY2008 XC70.
Do you have a cd slot above the radio display screen in the centre console?
If the answer to above is YES then keep feeding cd's into the slot, when you have 6 inside it won't take anymore.
To change or remove, select the cd by pressing the change cd control until the relevant cd is marked on the display then press eject.
The cd changer is inside the radio/ infotainment unit in the centre console.
Hope this is of some help to you

Thanks! The car is mint. You'd barely know anyone had ever driven it, let alone gone off road in it. Satisfyingly chunky after four/five years driving a couple of Saab 9-3 Viggens.

You're currently in the section of the forum for the phase 3 (2007 onwards) vehicles so you may get some more knowledgable folk in the phase 2 section:
