Default S40 - After Market Parking Sensor Fitting

Hi All,

Looking at getting some after market parking sensor and fitting it myself.

Is there a guide or does anyone have any tips for me?

Can find the sensors for < £50 on ebay / Amazon but just looking for any suggestions etc.

Cheers,
Sam

Get the "flush" ones, look much nicer and more upmarket i.m.o.

When you take the bumper off there should be indentations where the sensors should go from factory, use them as a guide as they work well where they have been put. Shame your car isn’t black, I have a complete rear bumper in black with 4 genuine sensors to start you off for the factory look. OEM sensors will fit but it’s a bit more of a faff. If they have a separate switch as well as just something that wires to the reverse switch (if they don’t I’d recommend fitting one) there are loads of good places to hide it, my favourite place to hide a switch like that is in the cup holder drawer, a small discreet black rocker switch.

R Design do not have the markings inside the bumper. Get canbus friendly ones if applicable.
Paid £25 for mine, 2 years on and no problems. Wire for reversing light is thin so making a good soldered connection is tricky.
If you have the plug in the wiring loom and your car is black I would consider sasha94 offer. So much easier.
