Default Weird dash lights flicker

Posted on the main forum but didn’t get much response.
I’ve noticed when I turn my v50 2.0 diesel off the dash lights flicker, very quickly as the key goes past the ignition on stage.
No warning lights, the car runs sweet as a nut and no other gremlins I know of.
Just really odd as it’s not all the time either. Just a really quick flicker as the cars turned off, the headlights also flash aswell.
Almost as if it’s a power surge as the cars switches off.

I would pick worn contacts in the ignition switch, where it is not making a clean break as it switches off, but rather making a break-make-break-make-break as it turns off.

Confirm it with an oscilloscope, or just buy a replacement electrical part of the ignition switch.

Thanks for the reply.
I’ve only recently got the car so was a little worried it had a serious problem like an ecu fault or dash problem or control module failing etc
If it is the ignition contacts would it get worse over time and is it a major problem?

Does it happen all the time?

I've noticed mine do it on the odd occasion over the past year of owning it.

No it’s odd. Doesn’t seem to be any pattern behind it at all. Just sometimes it’ll turn off fine and the dash would shut down as normal when turning the car off. But every now and then they’ll all flash as I turn it off.

I wouldn't worry about it.

Like I say mine does it on the odd occasion and nothing untoward has happened.
