Yes, you're right- it is one unit. My question may have been misleading- when I said transfer fluid I meant rear case/diff fluid..

The old service sheets disappeared about 3 years ago , now they are generated individually for each car through vida , the "service adviser" should talk to you and ask about brake fluid , automatic fluid , and if you do low mileage tailor it to suit your needs . Previously you would have been given a signed service sheet with everything listed , and that is still the case ..

Yeah, no service sheet- and unless one asks- no verbal advice either.. But then again- this is not a Volvo-only trend- it has become a norm.. With such advanced monitoring systems onboard one would expect to be able to click on the "Maintenance required" message to get a list of scheduled maintenance items..
