Tyre bump?

This doesn't look good isn't? Anyone know what could have caused this?

The chipped on the rim has been there before the bump...

Put the spare on and get that changed, its damaged beyond repair and could let go at any time. Its been damaged by a kerb or pothole.

Definitely a kerb or pothole hit at speed. And definitely unsafe to drive either far or fast. Sadly, that tyre has had it!

Definitely don’t want that bump exploding at 70mph on a motorway!

Thanks all for the advice. Only last month i had one replaced due to puncture

Another £147 down the drain. Need to start checking how to claim pothhole damage from the council!

i hit pot hole some time ago my wheel was okay but the tyre had bulge in sidewall i claimed the council took picture of damaged tyre paid got estimate for new tyre then sent it to them and they paid for tyre

now i have tyre insurance just incase with the state of the roads

1. Which council?
2. Which Insurance do you have? - had a look (4 yr lase) - all seemed quite expensive.
