Default Replacement wing mirror

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum so please be gentle.

Driving home the other night I had my driver's side mirror smashed off by another car which didn't stop. I've trawled through various adds on eBay trying to find a replacement but there seems to be numerous variations. My car is an S40 1.6D on a 2006 plate. From what I can see the electrics have 7 connectors. The mirror was retractable with an indicator, but no pool light underneath. Any ideas from you lovely people about a part number and where I can get a used replacement from?

Thanks in advance.

When you say it was folding... electric or manual folding?

Would be useful to post a photo of the remaining mirror to make sure it's a pre-facelift car.

That looks like a facelift mirror although it's not easy to tell. If it is I'm surprised it's on s 2006 car. A photo of the mirror glass side would confirm.

It will be really challenging to get one second hand as very few had electric folding mirrors. There are a number of manual folding ones on eBay but I don't see an electric one just now. If you need it quickly you might end up new at a dealer but the cost will be epic. We just had a new mirror put on our 2009 V50 at about £400 and it's not electrically folding.

All I can find is one that has a puddle light...

As mentioned, a photo of the other side of the mirror will confirm if it's a facelift shape or not.

Definitely facelift. Surprised at that on a 2006 as I thought facelift models started 2007. It will be really hard to find an electrically folding one without a puddle lamp as they weren't very common.

:-(

What will fit? With or without electrics? Is the plastic mount on the door the same for all s40s (three mounting points)? Only really need the indicator to work on the mirror and for it to look the same.
