Right lets get things clear. Its a no claims discount. Not a protection.

If your basic premium is £500 and you have 50% discount then you pay £250. Simples.

If you notify of a no fault accident then you are deemed a higher risk. If you make a claim you are deemed a higher risk. In both cases your basic premium will increase. The latter case above will entail a higher rise in the base premium.

Once the new basic premium is calculated THEN the discount is applied.

SO YOUR ANNUAL PREMIUM WILL INCREASE.

Here endith the Lesson.

Interesting - I've just tried to post an explanation of my first post, and I receive a message telling me I cannot post as it is "Forbidden", with a note of my IP address.
Yet, I have just now replied to another topic.
Curious!

I get that sometimes, it seemed to be font related, as I was cutting and pasting etc. using quotes as well from other people

Thanks MaDProff - still won't accept my explanation (now saved on Word) so I'll just see if this works
Preview looks okay.

Nope - still won't post it. Maybe it's a word limit?

Anyway - in short even if completely no-fault (eg hit from behind whilst stationary) if you inform your insurance company as a courtesy which I did (no damage to my car but lots to hers) it will still count against you, and have to be declared when you apply for insurance with another company.

It will be mod_security on the server, something you have typed will look like an sql injection or similar and is triggering the block.

Haven't used Windows for over 20 years, but it must have just a basic text editor, did it used to be notepad? if not download some ASCII editor & drop your text in there first, save, then re-open, then copy/paste

Tried the Notepad option - still won't post.
However, I've attached my response as a Note file, so if anyone has a few spare moments can spot why it might not have been posted as is, please let me know.
Thanks.

Very weird, only thing my software picked up on was the £ sign, but even replacing that with GBP failed

I think the issue is your PC end as I have just tried copy/paste from your txt file into a new forum posting and it works perfectly.
Maybe it's the smiley at the end?
