Imobiliser Installation
I am considering installing an alarm system to my 1993 940 2litre turbo Estate. The alarm unit has an immobiliser circuit, to disable the ignition. As I understand it the immobilisation is basically a switch circuit, open when armed. Unfortunately the installation instructions are a bit vague regarding this part of the installation recommending that the switch circuit be made into the wire supplying power to the ignition coil from the ignition switch.
Having studied various wiring diagrams, it would appear that in order to safely disable the ignition system. The switch circuit will have to be introduced between the blue/red wires and position 15 on the ignition switch. Thus disabling the engine management / fuel injection systems. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. |
