Default exhaust mist 740 estate

Hi

recently when my car starts up i have noticed it chucking out a fair amount of water from the tailpipe and then it runs quite happily although i fill the road behind me with alot of grey mist / smoke is that normal or have i a problem somewhere

I would have thought that at this time of year it is only condensation. If it is any consolation my 760 Intercooler does it as well.

As long as it stops when the engine is up to temp, I can't see it being a problem.

does the engine use up any coolant, does the coolant tank level drop at all ?
If not it just sounds like normal condensation to me

Sounds about right to me.

My 740 pumps out vast quantities when it is cold but once up to temperature runs like a dream.

Just waiting to say that - go for a drive and for the engine to let go!!!!

All motor vehicles chuck out vast amounts of condensation from their exhausts at this time of year, not just our dearly beloved 700s. Nothing to worry about, unless the engine coolant needs topping up regularly- Then you may have a head gasket problem
