I just spaced it out and using the same size, "Volvo Comp Service" would be one letter short. We could also do smaller text size. One thing to remember is that some names are trademarks.

There is also the possibilty of casting blank valve covers, and then offering a separate option name plate with the cover. It would need to fit the same, so that it is flush with the top. We could probably configure a CNC program for this part.

What method of casting were you going to use? I work in investment castings, actually the machine shop portion. The problem is that after casting, there is a high chance that the parts will not be straight or sized right, so they might require finish machining. The other part is the finish: do we get the whole thing powder coated black and then get the top resurfaced on a mill, so that it is flat and shiny? I think you will realize that there is more cost involved in the whole process. I would probably say a minimum batch of 100 parts.

Carry-on guys. I should think someone like Brookhouse would like to get in on it. If casting etc... is cheaper here in Canada, I have someone who is in the know.

The Volvo Historical Archive have always been helpful to me. Perhaps they could give information on Volvo Competition Service and any other names used?

"Volvo Competition Service was formed in 1971 by AB Volvo in Goteborg, Sweden. It was a new name for the 'Competion Department' that actively campaigned the 544 and 122 models in European rally circles during the mid-sixties" (Volvo Competition Service Manual).

I'm swaying to Gunnar Anderson. We would need to get approval from the family; perhaps a percentage from the sale of each one?
I'm sure they would be happy Gunnars name carries on
Will start investigating next week

i would pass on them names but if an option came up for a blank ones we can have our own name made then i may well be intrested as them names dont mean anything period to me and would cost way to much for it to return any cost or looks
